4Chan death?

I'm not a really big fan of 4chan, don't post there, don't really know there history... but I do frequently lurk there for shits and giggles (but mostly morbid curiosity) and I was wondering if anyone had a clue as to what is happening with their site right now? I did a bit of quick googling and people are talking constant DDoS attacks; anyone know the backstory to this? I keep hearing about lulz.net being responsible (a furry site, I guess?), but I figure some of you guys likely know quite a bit better than I do what's going on.

The last unofficial news I heard:
Some unknown individuals launched an attack on furaffinity, a furry porn site. In response to this, the FA community launched a retaliation despite not actually knowing who did it. So 4chan became the chosen target.

Apparently they began by spamming child porn, forcing the admins to take the site offline. They did come up again over the weekend, but have been experiencing some DDoS attacks since. Rather humorous irony about that though. In order for them to post child porn, they must already have it, which means the original attackers were entirely justified against the furries/pedos.

It's kind of like the scene in (forgive me) Matrix 3 where the battle suits (FA) are shooting at the gap where the little robot dudes (4chan) are swarming through. It temporarily slows it down but then suddenly *whoosh* they just start pouring into the chamber.

Fuck you, that is a fucking outstanding analogy.
