Little Rock School Integration Anniversary

Yesterday was the 50th anniversary of the Little Rock Nine's integration into a previously segregated high school. While America faces lingering racial issues, it's amazing how far things have come in 50 years, and we're lucky to have had people back then with the courage to force those changes, all the way from the students themselves on up through the president.

I remember watching some old video on the Little Rock school saga, and an interview with one white local (filmed at the time of the events) stands out in my mind pretty much sums it up:

"Well, it's squirrel hunting season and alot of folks have rifles in the back of their pickup trucks!"

I am %100 serious, those were almost his exact words. Dumb fucking hicks.
