PC issue, looking for possible solutions

Okay, I've ran it by a few people and I've gotten a different answer from everyone. At first it seemed like vibrations were causing lockups so I assumed loose cables. I reattached everything and even cleaned out all the fans and it seemed fine. When it still persisted, I grounded the case and it was fine for a few days till it returned. Then it started happening without vibrations. Most of the time it's during video usage, but that doesn't say much since I'm always watching something (I'm a big anime/tv buff so the amount of data related to video is pretty staggering for a person computer.

I'm running a 8800gts 2 gigs of PC6400 corsair and a 2.13 duo core. The kicker is I've got a 460 watt (I believe may be 450) power supply. I'm leaning towards a power issue because I noticed by back fan would kick on and off, but directly in relation to the freezes (I've noticed it in the last two). The rear 120MM will kick off randomly and go back on after a full shutdown of the power supply.

I'm thinking a new and much juicier power supply should fix it but I'd like to get the opinions of other users first. Your thoughts?

Could very well be an over heating issue.

that video card is a power hog, i just checked nvidia's website and they say a 400 watt PS is enough but, if it is a cheap PS i would say a power fluctuation would cause lock ups.

i agree

Thinking of getting a 600 watt Antec and a PCI cooling card to put right near the 8800 to keep it cooler.
