I realize this is a game and maybe should be in the other games forum, but it isn't a video game per se so I figured this would be a more appropriate place.

At any rate I was wondering if anyone was interested in playing some chess around 11pm EST most nights? I want to let everyone know I am a total noob and am horrible so don't expect a tough match or anything. Anyhow if anyone is interested let me know. You can always PM me or leave a post here or whatever.

check out pogo.coms chess rooms. I used to play a lot more than I do now, but there are a lot of people who play there and a decent ranking system so you know if it's pointless playing an opponent

That's a joke right? Download any random chess program and set it to maximum hard and see how well you do. There are people better than that out there.

my dad taught me chess, he was on his college chess team and could "See" 6 moves ahead. Playing against him sucked.

An avid chess player friend of mine told me that at some point in studing chess you reach a turning point, a kind of epiphany, that allows you to utterly destroy anyone who has not passed this critical point. When asked about the nature of this epiphany he said "being able to sense the power balance between black and white squares"... I never played against him but I am pretty sure he would have destroyed me...
