Frying Computers

This is either the 3rd or 4th time I've fried something on my computer while moving (moved to a new house). Maybe it's static or something but this I fried my computers motherboard while moving (2nd time it's been the motherboard, one time it was a CPU and another time it was a video card... I was sad about the video card one).

I fail at moving obviously, so what exactly should I be doing to my computer other than placing in on a seat in my vehicle (to try and prevent bumps and such shaking it to pieces). Is there some sort of computer bag that prevents static buildup? Or maybe it's not static that is causing it? I'm unhappily purchasing another motherboard AGAIN... this sucks.

I'll check the tag on my Elvis Jumpsuit but I don't think that's it.

use a can of compressed air in it before moving. all the jostling might dislodge some dust which could short something

also, car upholstery likes to make static.

I just never thought I'd get it right now. It's like 80% humidity out, I guess I'm wrong. I also didn't know that dust could cause a short. I always thought it would only cause overheating.

Hrm, I've moved my computer plenty of times, never had anything burn out from it. And one side doesn't even have a cover.

I work on computers all day long for clients that bring them in to me. Most of them don't have the slightest clue how to maintain them. Never have I ever had a computer get fried in transit from customers house to my repair center.

I once moved across country on a train. I put my computer case in a suitcase with nothing but a blanket on one side to fill up the space and prevent jostling. 3000 miles and one dented case later I plugged it in and booted right up.

I'd start with getting a new case and one with a decent power supply.

New case and decent power supply if shit is getting fried.

Also, with the power supply, make sure the setting is on open (the circle) as that prevents any power from entering through that part.

I'll try out a new case as I know the power supply is of good quality but the case is crap. It was cheap and I needed something at the time, so that's probably it.

Case should not matter if it is some form of plastic or metal
