Nvidia 8600m gs problem

I just bought a new HP laptop with a 8600m gs nvidia card. For some reason when I try to alter the digital vibrance or image sharpening, it won't let me. I installed the new drivers from windows update, still the same problem. Anyone know what exactly is going on? Also, why can't you install the drivers from Nvidia's site?

I was a tad bit confused as well when I downloaded the drivers for nvidia's 8400gs card (Dell laptop) and found out it wouldn't install. I wasn't too worried about it though...

and I do believe I came across the same problems with the image sharpening options being grayed out on the sliders, while you can alter pretty much everything else.

Go to LaptopVideo2Go & NVIDIA Related News

Basically you need a hacked .inf for any laptops. Really is pretty easy and well worth it since the Dell/Other Manufacturer drivers are usually way out of date and never updated.

Do not download nvidia drivers from windows update. Most of them do not work right for mobile units. I work with these laptops all the times and half the time I have to go back and uninstall the driver and install the proper driver from the manufacturer website.

Its also worth noting that mobile graphics cards have specific drivers that are only easily available from the manufacturer's website. (Dell, Alienware, HP, etc..) Do not try and download the desktop drivers from Nvidia.com.
