Torrentspy Search No longer available in the US

Tried to do a search earlier today on Torrentspy to look for a movie I couldn't find in stores (Nowhere) and I noticed that I'd been blocked. According to the article, anyone in the US has; here it is:

Slyck News - TorrentSpy Blocks American Search Requests

First, what do you think about it? Sad, pissed off, satisfied, or even supportive of the measure? The article mentions that the owners had concerns over US users' privacy being infringed upon. I download quite a bit of material, so for me it's a pretty shitty development. I buy every movie I enjoy watching and most of the time use the lesser quality DVD rips from torrent sites to preview stuff. To give an example, recently I'd been told by a friend that the Berserk anime was pretty badass, so I went to Torrentspy and downloaded it. I just ordered it minutes ago, and was planning to use TS to find copies of the manga I could check out. I know there are differing opinions about this, and I'd like to hear 'em. My opinion: fuck the MPAA, I wish only the worst upon them; they're greedy assholes who will stop at nothing to impose their will upon the internet, our greatest hope for the open, honest sharing of information and freedom of speech. People like them are justification for domestic terrorism.

Second, what can be done to circumvent this? Any way to dodge the blocks? What other sites are there like the Pirate Bay where US users can still find torrents? Is it even safe to do so anymore? What's on the horizon for people downloading copyrighted material in the United States? What's on the horizon for the future of the internet, privacy laws, and freedom of speech?

Lame.. well, you can use cached Goggle searches, for now.

Better get on a private tracker.

I used TorrentSpy. Sucks it doesn't work, but it's not like there aren't hundreds more out there.

Yeah it has sucked for a while. It used to be good, until torrents got popular.. and by popular I mean most people set upload to 1.0 kb/s and cancel jobs as soon as it completes.

They lost their court case and are now required to submit every IP that connects to their website to the MPAA. This is why they block US visitors - if the MPAA only gets IPs outside the US, there's nothing they can do.
