| The "Value" In Value Meal? The value meal, the combo, the kid's meal. Go large, go biggie, go king, go supersize. Fast food has become one of the standard meals of the day for most people in America. Like every other business, the goal is to profit from the millions who eat their products. But some of their pricing is just insulting to the competent customers. The most recent travesty, happened at the Burger King. I ordered the 12pc Chicken Fry Meal w/ Coke, my usual BK drive-thru meal, and expected the usual $5.24 total. That will be $6.29, please drive up to the first window. Wait, what? You rang up the wrong order. Nono sir, the 12pc meal is $5.99. A couple days ago it was $4.99. It's always been $5.99 sir (Hi liar), that's the price you'll have to pay. Well, needless to say, I went up to the window at that point and had some words with the manager. After the giving the usual run around bullshit and ultimately claiming company pricing, I went and pulled a fast one on him. Give me a 9pc meal instead then. $4.61, choke on the other 3 bitches. ============================================ 9pc Chicken Fry - $2.99 / 12pc Chicken Fry - $3.29 9pc Chicken Meal - $4.39 / 12pc Chicken Meal - $5.99 (was 4.99) ============================================ Those are just the standard meal prices, the medium size (aka small), Large is +0.40, King is +0.80. So assuming full price on the chicken, that leaves $2.60 for the smallest fry/soda or $1.30 for each. That is not "value", hell wouldn't it be cheaper ordering individually? This is hardly the first time they've tried such creative pricing. There was some interesting combinations that happened when Wendy's took their turned their biggie meal prices into the small and started charging extra for medium/large. They had an actual value menu, so it would be cheaper to get the fry/soda individually. Even the 10pc Nugget meal was more expensive than getting 2x 5pc + fry/soda from the value menu, if you wanted to add a sandwich it was cheaper to order the sandwich combo and get 5pcs instead. Unfortunately they too caught on, and the value menu got a price hike. ($1.19-$1.39 in a lot of areas) Mmmm, well I just finished my dinner, 3 chicken fries shorter than usual sadly. Anyone else got some stories or rants they want to share? I'm sure there's plenty of people noticing this BS.

+75 Internets | A corporation that exists solely to make money has managed to hoodwink people into spending more money on their sub-par goods?!?!?! Someone call the Daily Planet! For that same price + the time it took to write this thread, I could have cooked you a better meal. Who has time to run CBA's on various fast food restaurants anyway? |

+7 Internets | I dunno if this relates to this thread at all, but you can get a double cheeseburger for a dollar at McDonalds (dollar menu) but a regular cheeseburger is 1.19 (or something). I always found that funny. |

+31 Internets | yeah, I remember BK chicken sandwich meals used to be $5.20 after tax, now it's like $6.59 or some shit. If I have to eat cheap, i get the double cheese burger from mcdonalds for $1. Even the breakfast combos are all a dollar more. Used to be like $3.20 for a bacon egg cheese biscuit now it's like $4.40 or some shit. |

+15 Internets | I've been on the Dollar Menu diet for two years now and I haven't looked back. Junior Bacon Chees, Double Chees, Double Cherry Pies, Beef and Potato Burritos... there's shit out there for a buck that fills you up better than a lot of 6-7 dollar combos. |

| I work at burger king and I have to say those " chicken fries " are the nastiest fucking food ever. when they come out of the freezer they get fried once, then they sit in a plastic container for the entire day. If someone orders a 9pc chicken fry then you just "flash fry" the 9 fries for 25 seconds. LOL |

+2 Internets | Yup, fuck value meals. Wendy's is the best if you want to eat on the cheap, and you obviously don't mind your health because you're eating fast food. I am a giant fan of two delux burgers + a 5 piece chicken nugget for 3.16. I even pay with exact change.

| If you are really interested in living on the cheap and you haven't yet discovered the wonders of 25-cent packages of ramen noodles, you haven't tried hard enough. Quote:
