+20 Internets | Backing up documents online I've been working to reduce the amount of paper I have in my room and try to only keep digital versions around whenever possible. However I've realized my 'backup' currently consists of copying the files to a secondary HDD, that is when I actually remember doing it. If it's stuff in progress (like word/excel documents) I open the old file half the time - basically, it's a mess just as bad as normal paper ![]() I saw google's spreadsheet application lets me upload word/excel documents for storage, but this is again something I'd have to do manually. I'm sure the one thing I'd end up needing wouldn't be there when I do need it - and it also doesn't store PDFs. So I'm looking to find a reliable service that'll automatically backup folders. It doesn't need to be huge (1GB would probably last me a lifetime - I'm not looking to back-up any pictures), but it should allow multiple folders for easy storage. Google finds some cheap offers (at least one is even free), but I'm hoping for some personal experience. I don't want to rely on it for backup just to see it has since shut down when I actually need it. I think Live Folder (or something) is in development by Microsoft, but it's in beta and thus neither reliable, nor accessible. (won't let me sign up for it) |

| Could probably just get some backup software (automatic) and ftp it to a host. Pretty cheap and would hold tons of documents. |

| Just email the documents to yourself using a Gmail account. Organize however you need from there. Or find a true online backup service.

| Gmail is good for so many things. I have an RSS feed coming straight into my inbox from torrent sites and I use it as my own personal torrent search engine. I use another account as a back-up account for all of my important documents, like someone said above. What I'm trying to say is, I love it. |
