Withdrawal certainly does have to happen, and it does have to happen relatively soon. Phased withdrawal might start this year, next year is probably more likely. That will probably take a year or so, maybe longer. Even that won't be an actual "withdrawal", more like the same kind of withdrawal we had in Korea. It's unrealistic to even suggest that we will be out of Iraq completely ever. The politicians talk that shit because they are pandering to the simpletons that make up the majority of our country who actually believe that shit.

You are correct that we cannot simply pull every single U.S. soldier out of Iraq tomorrow or even in a week. That isn't possible and I don't think any politician is saying that. But they are saying we have to start getting them out of there. And everyone knows that will take months, probably years to accomplish. But it has to start sometime. Sooner is better than later.

That is exactly what the politicians are saying though, they are saying it without saying it so that they can later claim they didn't say it when they do not deliver. But they are certainly putting off the impression that they intend to get the troops out of Iraq the day after they are inaugurated.

I think a lot of stupid Americans want the troops out "now" as in, 5min after inaugaration. I think Edwards is the only candidate with a hard promise of getting the troops out immediately, I think he says he'd start within 60days of him getting in office.

Hasn't it already started? I thought we relatively recently reduced our total troop number by a few thousand.

Thank you for clarifying your position as no one has pointed out that exact answer yet this page.

Come on, let them have their cute and totally original moment when they randomly interject "in answer to the original question: NO". It's the little victories that make life worth living, and damn you for trying to take that away.

The most exhaustively accurate statisticians on the planet - casino oddsmakers - would disagree with you.

The odds have been slashed again to 10:1 since that article was written.

Those odds suck - Ron Paul is at about 110:1 on inTrade. (share costs 9c, pays $10 if he wins) And there's no cap.

Edwards won't pull shit out of Iraq.

Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate who WILL pull our troops from Iraq and other countries around the world. Period.

Never said he would. But, I should have said "only Democrat Candidate", I apologize. I'm aware Paul has the stance that he would pull the troops out as well, I just forget he is running sometimes.

Yes, now only if we could get the media to remind you how well he is doing.
