Speeding ticket and caselaw.

Cops made driving home from High School fun. Usually one parked at each of the three major raods leading away from the school. Almost every week a couple people would get tickets for stupid shit like 'rolling' past a stop sign or going 40 in a 35.

I was safe though because for a few months I drove my moms mini-van. Cops never bothered to check/stop old people. <3 <3 Ahh, good times.

Unless the gun he used was from 1983 or earlier I suspect that the design flaw causing the inaccuracy has been corrected.

At least in California, the scanner is basically just an accessory by the cop used to "verify" his initial impression. He's under no obligation whatever to be bound by the readout, trust it, or require it to convict you.

Read up on your state's caselaw, but don't assume it's a slamdunk case based on a wikipedia or findlaw blurb.

Exactly. I got a ticket from a cop who passed me on the highway for speeding. He didn't get a gun on me, saw me for now more than a second (when we passed each other we were on a curve), and had no way of knowing how fast I was going, because you can't tell me any human being can tell the difference between a 200km/h and 240km/h closing velocity in under a second.

I may have been able to fight it, but I didn't feel like driving 8 hours to the shithole town I got it in, so I just paid the $160 and forgot about it.
