Unless it's actually being enforced, I suspect that no one really cares.

Like it or not, there was once a time, way back when, when the majority of this country was of one religious persuasion, and its laws, constitution, pledge of allegiance and court system all reflected this.

Its only been until recently that we have become the United States of Mexico, where men marry men, and the removal of God from our courts and pledge of allegiance has become common place. In 20 years we will be a completely differen country where English will be a second language and the country will be a muslim vs christian hot bed.

I was fairly certain Mexico was largely Catholic? I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm like any other red blooded American man from the past 200ish years, I hate the Catholics. But come on.

It's amusing to hear people talk all authoritatively about how the US was founded on Christian principles etc etc etc, when most of the founding fathers were atheists or at most deists. Jefferson for example despised religion in all its forms.

But back to rah rah yaaaaaaaaaaay GOD!

I don't think it matters much one way or the other what religion or anti-religion the founding fathers were. If they made laws that were clearly catering to the Christian majority when it was founded, then that's what you go by. And it's quite clear the major sects of Christianity at the time had a very big influence on this country's founding laws, and that they still do to this day.

Fuck not being able to buy alcohol on Sunday. Fuck it right up the ass.

Missouri too.

And none of these "christian laws" had anything to do with the founding fathers. These all came way after, by theocrats trying to usurp them for their own, when in fact regardless of religion, all the founding fathers were one thing above all else, secularists.

The Pledge, In God We Trust, 'anti-sin' blue laws, tax exempt churches, ten commandments in courts, and whatever that bullshit in Massachusetts is....none of it was the work of the founding fathers.

Actually my friend, it is almost the complete opposite (aside from gay marriage). God is still in the pledge, AFAIK the Ten Commandsments in court is a relatively new thing, my money still tells me to trust in your God, we have never had an official language...

And if this country ever becomes a hotbed of religious violence...that will of course not be at all the fault of any christians or their proposed laws...right? Afterall, it says right there in the Constitution "We, the founding fathers, wish this country to become a Protestant Christian Theocracy..." Elemenary American Civics 101, right?

As far as the OP goes. If that law is real, it is obvious that the makers of the law violated the Constitution. But I think the normal procedure for appealing it starts when they try to enforce it, then the defendant challenges it's legallity, then it goes up the courts, etc etc. Basically, if noone is enforcing it, noone has need to challenge it, hence, why is still in the books. But it's no different than any myriad of retarded laws all over the country that noone ever enforces. It's illegal to sit on a street corner and drink beer from a bucket in St. Louis. (Law made long ago to stop an Irish tradition that immigrants brought over that disrupted normal business)

States need to set up a committee to go through retarded laws and in one sweeping act repeal them. It's ridiculous to have laws that are such obviously unconstitutional and just not enforce them.
