+21 Internets   | New Processor... I am looking to upgrade my processor to what the max my mother board can handle. However I have never done so before and no idea what I need. I got this info using AIDA32 My specs: Mother board: DFI KM400-MLV / KT400A inifiinty Bus Width 64-bit CPU: AMD athlon XP 1833 MHZ/2200+ CPUID: AMD sempron(tm) 2600+ I have googled all this and nothing says here is what you have and this is what you can have. Any help would be great. |

+29 Internets | It would be a waste of money to spend any money on that system. Any "upgrade" would be incredibly marginal. And to get a "better" processor, you'd most likely have to buy used or find some place with old, surplus stock. You've got a Socket A motherboard from the looks of it, and that platform died about 3 years ago. |

| I don't think you'll really find much to fit that. It's an old Socket A board.

| Well, you could get a 1950 pro AGP, and it would serve you well until DX10 was mainstream.. but you'd bottleneck at the CPU bigtime. You need some new computer guts.

| More and more mobos are NOT coming with AGP. Save up some money, get a mobo with PCI-E and a PCI-E card.
