| I'm a huge fan of stand-up comedy. I saw Vicious Circle and thought it was pretty good. I certainly agree that he spends alot of time building up one joke, but he (at least IMO) makes even the build-up funny, or at least entertaining and empathetical (the way he describes him and his friend about to commit a "B&E"). Physcial comedy isn't exactly the pinnacle of the craft, but certain uses of it are priceless imo. Robin Williams used the same combination of spoken and physical comedy and is considered by many to be the best stand-up of all time. And don't tell me Jim Carrey's shit hasn't made you laugh at least once. Hell, I even found the "print the bible on them" joke funny and I'm an atheist. I have to disagree with the naysayers here. He uses a good deal of physical comedy and he panders to the frat-boys true, but he's still a gifted comic and I expect to see him continue to succeed and possibly improve.

| I think Dane Cook's best ability is to describe every-day situations in a manner that we can all relate to (the empathy factor talked about above). Like when he's taken a sip of soda at the movie theatre and he slides his cup in a circle around on the armrest trying to find the damn cupholder hole... that's something everyone's done at least twice and it's funny as hell when he points it out. It's those things that make Dane so funny to me, because he seems to be just an ordinary guy who knows how to make things funnier. |

+20 Internets | Speaking of relate to. Could anyone actually relate to his story about crying? I mean obviously he can't relate to his own story being a comedian, but I've never experienced this cry moment like he kept going on about |
