More LCD help...

Okay, here comes another thread about LCD's

I'am going to buy one as soon as I get some input from some of you...here is just some general info on them

which is better, or do they both suck?

Acer AL2017BMD / 20" / 8ms / 600:1 / SXGA 1400 x 1050 / DVI-D · VGA / Black / LCD Monitor with Speakers (16 lbs)

or

Westinghouse 20.1" Flat-Panel LCD Monitor Model: LCM-20V5 # 1400 x 1050 maximum resolution; capable of displaying more than 16 million colors# 0.2916mm dot pitch 8 ms response time

all i do is school work and EQ2 so which one is best

btw they are both $250.00

edit: lol after posting this i realised they are pretty much the same, so i guess are these stats good for a LCD or not, I dont know much about all the technical bs so basically - A. Are the stats decent for EQ2 and B. Which Brand would you go with

Those are kind of low max resos, if you spend $70 more the Viewsonic supports a lot higher...

i just bought http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1149205183966 for $199 with a 3 year srvice plan for 29.99 which covers everything. The manufacturer's warranty is pretty lame, replacement requires 10 dead pixels or any other major defect.

Its an alright monitor for the price. Not the best for FPS games which i use it for mainly but it shows an excellent picture for anything else. In source and q4 it's kinda hard to keep track of moving objects when spinning around crazily. Slow paced games look great. So i'd imagine it would be fine for what you use it for.

I'm with theawddone... anything below the Viewsonic vx2025wm is going to be crap (read: TN panel or worse).

I'd like something like that VX2025 but $324 is a little intimidating. I'm scared to buy an LCD after getting a DS with a bright green center-of-the-screen dead pixel.

Is the difference between a 2ms monitor and something like that noticable/worth paying more, when it comes to fast games?

I guess its all on the brand and model you buy. I have a Dell 2005fpw thats over a year old and no dead pixels so far.
