| T-Minus 3 or 4 days 'til some Bush PR mouthpiece makes a big accusation that anyone who doesn't support secret prison camps is an "enemy of Freedom." Haven't you heard? Fascism is the new black. It's coming back in a major way! |

+30 Internets | There's such an apathy towards this, it's unbelievable... the man admitted to sidestepping the Supreme Court and US Law and detaining people in countries known for their lack of human rights. The whole "I never ordered torture" argument is BS, when you send someone to countries like Saudi Arabia for "interrogation", you know exactly what's going to happen. Why else would you send them there, are US interrogators incapable of doing their job? At this point I wonder what it'd take for a President to get impeached - it seems anything but a blow job in the oval is fair game these days. |

+5 Internets | Everyone knows the only thing more evil then terrorism, torture and war, is sexual activity. Anything short of Bush (literally)assfucking osama on tape is fair game. |

| George Bush is a fascist! It's only a matter of time before I'm executed for my overdue parking ticket. I'm ready to leave my apartment at moments notice. I bought a portable aircraft TCAS. This should show me aircraft in all directions, just in case black helicopters or an F-16 tries to sneak up on me. I will be ready. Now excuse me while I go protest George Bush's systematic erosion of our freedoms, as we once knew them. I'm packing 80 American flags and a gallon of lighter fluid. That ought to do the trick. Hopefully I get back before the Adult Video store closes. I could really go for some tranny porn. |

| Do we have the gestapo running around? No. But we're also America, where freedom is our Motto, yes? So...anytime you circumvent law (that allows "Freedom") it should be a big fucking deal. |

+1 Internets | I don't fucking get it. A Democrat gets his dick sucked and the entire country is in uproar about getting him impeached. A Republican starts a sham war, gives himself unlimited unconstitutional power, tries to turn gays into second class citizens, keeps secret prisons where civilians are imprisoned and tortured without sentence or trial, and who knows what else and no one lifts a mother fucking finger. I hate this country. I've been watching past seasons of Top Gear(car show from the UK) and it's goddamn relieving how casually the hosts insult Tony Blair and other state officials, with barrels of laughs from the audience. You do that anywhere but Comedy Central in the US and you're a fucking enemy of the state. See: Dixie Chicks. Last edited by Kasonic : 09-07-2006 at 06:55 AM. |

| The US fails once again: http://atimes.com/atimes/South_Asia/HI08Df02.html Now that all the attention's shifted to Iraq, Bush would like to declare that Afghanistan was a great success. Too bad it doesn't work that way. I'm not the first to say this but I certainly won't be the last: this is a replay of Vietnam - on all fronts. So where's my damn hippy protests? |

| If not for 9/11, Bush would have been out on his ass years ago. If not impeached, then he certainly wouldn't have won a second election. Unfortunately, the tragedy of 9/11 was the single greatest thing ever to happen to George W. Bush's legacy. He's been riding that wave of fear and admiration for 5 years and counting. What 9/11 did was give Bush carte blance to do whatever the fuck he wants around the world, with minimal uproar from the majority of US citizens. He could wipe his ass with the actual Constitution of the United States (hell, he's been doing that figuratively for years...might as well do it literally), and he'd still be in office. The reason you're not seeing massive protests and counter-cultural movements the way you did in the mid-60s and early 70s is because Nixon (the Bush of his day) could never claim the Viet Cong were tangible, real enemies. It was tough to convince Americans of the "threat" of a bunch of Asian people running around in a jungle 6,000 miles away. But by the same token, it's VERY easy to get Americans worked up about a bunch of Arabs who are theoretically capable of attacking the US (and have done so on a fairly massive scale). Fear is a great motivator. And Bush/Rove/Rumsfeld/Cheney/etc use fear as political currency. |

+20 Internets | xeg_IS continues his great post effort. I don't know if anyone else has noticed how blindly he has supported Bush on these forums. I guess the only thing you can do when something like this comes out is make fun of the people making 'out there' comparisons of Bush and Hitler or whatever. At this point I feel like the country is just trying to ride out these last 2 years. People are up in arms and protesting, just nobody with power is doing anything. I do think there are times when you have to go Jack Baur on someone though. Though the whole denying he ordered torture in a secret offsite prison camp is just lame. At least come out and be bold with your bold decisions. |
