Strange Comp problem

Occasionally I'll come back home or I'll exit out of a game or tab between something and my computer will appear to be locked up. You can't do anything, not even click it. But if you hit ctrl alt delete and exit everything is back to normal. You don't have to close anything or run task manager, just bringing up your options fixes it.

Anyway, any idea what's causing this? A few days ago this was happening along with my sound being weird. I turned off my computer and it wouldn't turn back on. I eventually plugged it in to another plug and it worked after I hit the reset button. Though it still halted at the "BACKUP CMOS....OK" display (right before the winxp logo normally). Tempatures are all fine.

WoW has seriously fucked my computer with this patch - I'm getting the same hardlocking, windows rebooting strangely, and all of that.

My graphics card is going haywire because of this patch, I've tried all sorts of driver configs. I've had three restarts that when I report them to windows the cause is: "Error caused by Video Driver".

91.31 is the driver version for my 6800.

Fuck WoW right in the ear.

I've had the same problem (just the locking up after closing wow)
pisses me off like no other, considering this computer is ~week old, i don't like having to hard restart it so often.

Is this a wisespread problem? WoW is freezing my comp all the time now too--only it doesn't happen to me when I close it, it happens when I'm in the middle of playing. Very annoying.

I just get the random bouts of "I think I want to run ~2fps for the next minute or so" once in a while, and thankfully it hasn't happened during anything important, though sometimes it'll DC me as well.

I've checked all my temps, and hell, my 6900 is running at a paltry 52 degrees, which has usually been the hangup for my friend and his 6800 which was hardlocking at over 110 degrees. Holy shit that thing was burning up.

I had to reformat my HD to fix the above slow-down problems - apparently Nvidia's 91.31 severely fucks with some computers.
