| Robert E Howard(Conan) questions Got a wild hair the other day and decided to read Howard's original Conan stories, but did some research and had a hard time really finding what I wanted. My goal was to find all his stories in a 1,2, or 3 book set in thier original form. Closest I found was the Victor Gollancz "The Conan Chronicles" 2 book set, but this is no longer in print and im wary of buying these used versions online. Anyone else have experience in this, or maybe has a better set in mind? |

| The way I read the original Howard conan stories was in a 12 or 13 book set - damn, I don't have them with me, but they all had the same sounding names -- Conan the Cimmerian, Conan of Aquilonia, Conan the Freebooter, Conan the Swashbuckler, etc etc. They were all very slim volumes, they were old when I was young, and I couldn't even find them on amazon.com, so you might have a hard time finding the complete set. As I understood it, they were edited by a member of howard's family (I think, could be wrong on that, its been years since I read them) to be put in somewhat logical, chronological order. If you do find them, they are well worth reading - blood, swords, wenches, sorcerors, dark gods, the essential Conan. |
