Need some help

Whats up guys i got a problem with my tv and internet before i was able to use a splitter like anyone else from the main coax cable from the wall to have both the internet and tv run, well out of nowhere my cable internet wont work if i have it hooked up to the splitter and only works when i have it plugged from the wall directly to the modem so no cable! anyone have a suggestion to what could fix this?

i tried a new splitter from drug mart (5-1000mhz) and it doesnt work >.< I called Adelphia and they said they cant get anyone out until NEXT tuesday, maybe radioshack has better ones?

First of all, I'm not sure if your cable company will appreciate you splitting their line, so you might want to avoid telling or showing them that.

As for your problem, have you tried tracing the cable back to where it enters your house, or looking at the cable that comes out of the splitter? If you have tried multiple splitters than maybe there is a problem somewhere else up or down the line.
