+25 Internets | PDA / Digital Organizer Looking at picking one of these up, the old leather-bound daytimer method just ain't cutting it anymore. I don't think I'll be looking for anything too fancy. I'd kind of wanted to hold out on getting one of these until you could buy a really good combination cell/mp3 player/organizer/file storage device/medical diagnostic system that did all functions well, but unfortunately it looks like that will be a ways off yet. Soon we'll be able to buy tricorders, but not yet! So who is making good ones? What kind of features should I be looking for? I really don't know a damn thing about PDA's, to be honest. There good sites with info/reviews on them? |

| You're crazy, they've had good combination PDA's for a while now. My brother got his first one about two and a half years ago. He still has it, but has since upgraded. His original was a Samsung i700 and the newer one he got is an i730. He said that the 730 is a bit too wide/heavy for his tastes, but it has a lot more processing power and conveniences like Bluetooth and hi-speed wi-fi (which the 700 lack). So really, the things you're looking for are: portability/convenience (for both cell use and PDA use), and processing power (how much you actually want to use it as a computer). I say hit up the old standards like Newegg and TigerDirect (I prefer the latter since they don't charge tax to us Californians, but that's moot to you since you're a Canuck) and Sort By Popularity. That's my favorite shopping method. |

+25 Internets | Can I buy a 20gb PDA with cell phone, email and internet capability that fits easily in my pocket? I really don't think such a thing is available yet. So for now all I'm looking for is just a plain old PDA, no cell phone (just got one last spring, even though I hate it I may as well use it for another year or two), optional music playback (not really a priority, my piece of shit Archos continues to chug along somehow), nice slim size, no email, no internet. |

| I have an ipaq RX3715, I'm currently playing through chrono-trigger on it because everyone on this site seems to have a major hard on for it. I also use it to do a whole heap of things - including organisation shit. |

It's slim, no frills, etc. Palm OS software is also very easy to find. Currently I use a Zaurus SL-C1000, which I am VERY happy with. | |

+2 Internets | I use an iPAQ h4150, it's great and even it's out of date compared to today's PDAs. Uses CE, has a 1gig flash storage card, bluetooth, wifi, infrared, WMP or an MP3/ogg player. I keep all my personal and business files on it as pdfs for easy reference. Plus I've got Word/Excel/MSN and I can even remote desktop to our server and do remote terminal while sitting upstairs. I also cheat and use Skype on it so it can sort of double as a cell if I've got a wifi hotspot. The speaker is awesome and I've done conference calls just using the PDA as a desk-centre speaker for everyone to use as the communicator. I deliberately decided to get a PDA that didn't sacrifice uberness for a phone but I'm sure these days you can get an O2 type phone/PDA that has both. |
