Thinking exercise: How is fighting for God any different than fighting for country? If you're not religious, then God is just a made up entity with no real basis in reality, kind of like modern countries.

Note: I'm 100% for killing people for America and God.

I think in Hebrew the word Bible literally means "story."
Fix that. Dictionary.com says: [Middle English, from Old French, from Late Latin biblia, from Greek, pl. of biblion, book diminutive of biblos, papyrus, book, from Bublos Byblos.]

It means Book. No hebrew there. The reference to the Book, or 'the Good Book' is a term steeped in ancient tradition, so much so that when our ancestors spoke about 'the' book, there was only one obvious reference in Western Civilisation. The Latin root continued on, partially due to Latin being the active language of the Catholic Practice, but also due to the rampant spreading of the romantic languages (Even today, 'A(the) Biblia(bible)' means the Book in portuguese, although there is only one book named 'A(the) Biblia(bible).')
