Good with photoshop? Want $?

K heres the deal, i'm in the midst of doing some visual poetry stuff. Essentially, I take pictures and write stuff in an attempt to evoke something. Humor, sarcasm, pain - whatever. Unfortunately, my digital editing skills are lacking.

So, I need someone with an artistic sense that's good at photoshop. It's minor work, after we set up a template (hi 2-4 equal squares) it would just be cropping images for the most part.

I'd be willing to paypal a few bucks to anyone that helps me get it together, and then a few bucks for any subsequent pieces that are made.

I could probably do it, but it depends on when you need it. I have mid-terms all week long and wouldn't be able to touch it before this weekend.

and if you're doing poetry then that's kinda down my alley, as I'm an English, creative writing major w/ a focus in poetry, and I've taken 5 classes dedicated soley to poetry.

here are some pictures I made of my ugly friends 2 years ago.

Well, here is an example (For some reason i'm apprehensive, wru someone jumping down my throat) I've gotten the PM's, i just want to put something more tangible together before I contact. If anyone has AIM, that helps, or some other live chat medium.

I'm going to take these images, blend them with some words, and hopefully make something I can call art. This WILL be published.

I do work for a publication, but could probably do something for you if you drop me an email at ckypros@gmail.com.

I check it pretty often, so if you are interested, define what you want a little better in the email and I will see what I can do about getting a sample to you or something.

Shit that's badass I really need to learn how to use photoshop, I'm not an amazing drawer..I'm alright though.

I'd like to do some of that shit to some cars/anime.

Ok i've come up with an idea, and have the images/words 90% ready to go. If anyone is interested in giving this a shot, email me @ ThinkRevolutionX@Gmail.com or AIM me @ Matt143247 and i'll send you what I have and we can see where to go. Obviously it will have to be worked/reworked, but I have a vision?

Why does the glass need photochopping? That shit is awesome sans-anything.

Bug guts (or is that one hellacious booger?) need to be changed to blood. Lots of it. Dripping down. Perhaps bits and pieces of organ tissue to liven it up.

I'm not trying to be an ass here, but the first one looks terrible. I'd stay away from any of the major fliters they scream amateur. A little blur or noise isn't a big a deal, but the in the end you shouldn't be able to tell how the photo was manipulated---i.e. the exact filters used.

If you want some feedback on the writting itself; I'd be more than happy to help.

Dude, I've been into photography since 1980, have several pieces of my work in publication and some digital artwork in galleries.

You giving a critique of my work is not being an ass. It comes with the business. Every single thing I post in photo forums and such gets heavily critique'd. Photographers/Artists are worse than bitches in a beauty parlor, nothing to do but bitch. Heck, some photo forums I post in have bigger/longer flames than anything we've see here in Screenshots etc...

So no worries here bro, all's ok with me.

Also, when it comes to PS ... filters blow. None of what I posted was done with a filter. Think layers baby, layers! I'm pretty sure I could do the same lens flare with a filter, but I have more adjustability with a layer mask than a filter. Blending options etc...

But yeah James, that original glass looked dead. It looked .... "Point-n-Shootish". I just gave two extremes on what could be done. I added the flare to mask what was behind the glass, put the viewer more centered in front of the glass than peering through it.

Glass is tough to work with, almost as hard as getting good smoke results.

I thought bonzai did a pretty good job, It probably didint take him a long time to do either.

Bonzai what kind of a camera would you recommend for a beginner photographer? I like taking pictures of cars, animals, nature etc..

I'm really starting to love photography ever since I got my first digital camera I've pretty much always had it in my pocket.

Yeah...that's pretty much how any decent decent artist takes criticism, but more often than not with these things people take any attack on their art as an attack on them personally; so that's why I was a bit precautious.

That said, I still don't like the first one, it looks "cheap" to me. Trying to give it some depth is probably a good idea, but I think it'd look better with a more diffuse and subtler glow.

I think the color/contrast levels adjustment in the second one though is a vast improvement.
