| You Decide: The 2006 Elections Alright policy wonks, political junkies, liberals, conservatives, lefties and righties, environmentalist whackos and evil capitalistic pigs; what do you think about the 2006 elections? Will the conservatives in America continue to gain powa or will the left make a comeback? Are there any scandals that will hurt either party enough to cause a major move in the political spectrum in America? Lets get it all on record before the elections really get into full swing! |

| I bashed on everyone equally. So as not to offend any of you politically correct types: If you are a progressive democrat with left leaning tendencies, please vote one! If you are a conservative republican with tendencies to lean right, please vote two! If you do not give a darn, please vote three! This message has been bought and paid for by the politically correct nazis. |

+5 Internets | As soon as I move to a state where I'll still be able to vote in the primaries, I'm registering my party as "Correct". Similarly, if I ever wind up in the military again by some cruel twist of fate, then my dogtags will say "Jedi" (I'll tell them it's my religion to make that happen). Political affiliations mean about as much as the color of a NFL team's uniform anymore. Senators here in Louisiana just change parties to reflect what's popular, and the same folks stay in office for years. |

+1 Internets | 90% of the population will exercise their democratic right to not vote. The rest will be convinced by the argument that only urgent destruction of the national school system and the pension can fund the necessary tax cuts to large industry that are need to protect y'all from terrorism.End result, GOP wins every single seat, Democrats obliterated to the cries of "they hate freedom, burn them", Constitution changed to allow for life president and Karl Rove goes on to fulfil his life long ambition of becoming evil Vizier. ![]() |

After it's all said and done, it will all pretty much be the same old status quo. Edit: the poll options are dumb. | |

| I find it harder every year to trust any politician. Some of them speak well enough and say what sounds good, but there's just no way to know if they mean it. I don't like the way things have gone since 2000 and I don't think Bush ever deserved to be president anyways. I'm not talking specifically of the voting issues of 2000, but of his life in general. I don't think he deserved to hold public office at all. Nothing against him personally, however, I hear he's a decent guy to have a beer with or whatever. I just get the impression that Bush and his closest advisors would say and do anything to get what they want and most of what they want isn't in the best interest of the average American. I also think they would then lie about it and try not to get caught, never filling us in on anything. The only way we get any truth is if someone on the inside betrays them and tells us. I find my views are more similar to Libertarian than either of the major parties. It seems like the system is designed to keep them out of any major office though. Anyways one major issue I'd like to see fixed is the money. I don't think politicians should have to raise money to get into office. It leaves the door wide open for too many potential problems. With a lot of the current scandals I think that is apparent. I'd rather have the campaigns publicly funded with a limited number of things like TV commercials and radio spots. If they want to win then they should do it by talking with people face to face and not relying on a smear ad that twists the truth. |

| There is public funding, but it's a pittence. If you take the public funding, there is a limir on how much total you can spend on the campaign. However, if you're the son of an oil tycoon, or married into a multi-million dollar corporation, you can easily waive the public funding to avoid any type of limit on your campaign. Money wins, and it's sad. |
