Finally buying a camera with approval!

I want to stay under 200$ so I saw this camera and it looks decent to me after reading the opinions of my camera thread a few weeks back.

So is this camera decent for under 200$?

haha, i JUST bought that one 2 days ago.

ZDnet didn't review it favorably, but fuck them - it's got like 100+ 4-5* reviews @ newegg, so we will see.

I bought it last night from BestBuy too =/.

The only thing I don't really like is the flash shutter time, but I think there is a fast shutter option for it.

Zoom sucks, but image processing (shutter speed or whatever) is super-fast. I recommend it as well. I got mine for $250 on BestBuy Employee discount.

$181, and then I had $100 worth of bestbuy giftcards so it was like $115 for the camera + flash card.

I went ahead and ordered it so we'll see. I don't forsee myself using it very much or I would have gone with one of the higher end canon cameras. I might use it take pictures of myself giving someone the goat or batman... (If you haven't seen waiting yet your life has not begun).

Yeah, that's pretty much why I got it too. Seems like it works well so far.

edit* battery life seems nice too.

The A520 is basically an upgraded version of the A85 that I use at work, gets the job done quite well and is a great choice as long as you don't plan on going larger then 8x10.

Might be worth checking the Dell site too, I got my SD500 for $300 there which is about 40 bucks cheaper then newegg was at the time. May also be able to dig up a Dell coupon somewhere to save even more.
