| Widescreen LCD's...your two cents... I'm on the verge of making the jump to widescreen, but I'd like to get a few opinions of board goers who may have one or have seen some in action. To get the formalities out of the way, i'm a gamer, first and foremost, so Low response times, and good blacks are a must. These are the few that I'm considering: HP L2335 HP F2304 Dell 2405fpw On a side note...decent inputs (Component, composite) and HD compatability would be nice, because i'll probably end up using it for my next-gen console of choice, and If anyone wants to make suggestions, I'm looking for minimum 23". Thanks in advance |

| I would have already purchased the Dell 2405fpw but then I started reading all these reviews complaining of a high-pitched squeal coming from a lot of them.... and I haven't found enough evidence to make me believe that purchasing one of them wouldn't be a gamble. ![]()

| Currently using a Dell 2005FPW, and it just kicks ass. The only complaint I have is that my computer isnt good enough to run some games in 1680x1050(BF2, FEAR, that game runs like shit even at 1028x768!), sucks having the space but not being able to use it. Also, older games that are locked to smaller resolutions can look bad. Starcraft does this, since only displays @ 640x480. I either have to get a small centered output, or a distorted stretched one.

| I have a phillips LCD in the bedroom and have hooked up my computer to it a few times. While I can shed much light on the HPs and Dells I can say that it is real nice to see the screen of a game in something other then 19 inch. Well worth the purchase no matter what you choose. But I also have an Athlon 64 X2 4800+ with 2 gigs of ram and a X1800xt video card, so playing every game in 1920x1200 is no problem what so ever. If you dont have a good system then the moniter may not be the best for you. | |

| I just got the 2005FPW and it's awesome. Also, don't ever pay retail for *anything* dell, if you can wait a little while, check out sites like http://www.slickdeals.net. It's basically an entire community of people that sit at their computers and look for t3h uber coupon codez all day long. Picked up my 2005FPW for $380. |
