Keep an eye on gotapex.com, they usually have all the current Dell deals listed.

The thread Britt started for the 24" LCD monitor is gone so I'll just put it here (prolly too late for Britt anyway).

There's a coupon up that lets you get the Dell 2405FPW for $780ish. Here's the code: D8Q403R9G4FJ32

Only works for 4000 uses but it's still working as of now (2pm CST).

You can get it for even cheaper with one of those $35 off $300 coupons on ebay and 2% dpa. $714 = final cost.

You can buy 30% off cooupons (either home or small business) that apply to anything Dell sells for usually <$5 on Ebay.

Why would you buy a coupon off ebay when they're posted openly on various web sites?

Most of the free ones you see posted are limited to so many people, have cutoff dates, specific hardware etc...

The 25% and 30% off ones you get thru a small business section you can buy for $3 or so usually last 3-6 months, don't have any restrictions, work with anything dell sells from 7800GTX graphics cards to TV's, and they stack with denominational amounts off like $35 etc... or free shipping.

Finding $35 off ones or free shipping coupons is easy - finding a valid 30% off coupon for free is hard. I wound up buying a 30% off coupon for $3 and got a $35 off one for free. Put the item in my cart and then called and asked what kind of deal I could get - got free shipping thrown in. So far less than $300 shipped I got a new 7800GTX graphics card.

It's really not that hard. There are sites dedicated to posting coupons and update every morning. 30% type coupons are posted damn near every day. The rarer ones are the bigger discounts like the 35% one I posted above. Even so, all you have to do is monitor those sites and you're going to get the same deals you're buying from ebay. And you'll spend less time finding them than jacking around with paypal or waiting on emails or whatever. Just google for "dell coupons" and voila or something.

On top of that, truthfully you don't even need the coupons. You just need to know they exist. If you call a rep and tell them you heard about a coupon or special deal, they will almost always work it up for you. If they don't then you got a shitty rep and you should just call back and talk to a different one. And if you don't get any love from a home rep, make up a business name (they don't do any verification beyond that unless you're asking for credit) and call the Small Business guys as they can cut the same deals and sometimes even have more room to negotiate than the home reps.

And yeah, they'll always waive shipping if you ask nicely. Sometimes you can even grouse about the tax and they'll knock off another point or two for you as well even if you don't ask for a preferred account discount.
