I don’t care who knows NOW, but at work it would have been a bad thing. I mean, being a cute chick in the industry is a tough deal anyway seeing as how you’re constantly sexually harassed as a general rule anyway, so I did everything I could to keep my online ID secret. I went so far as to block the entire SOE domain from viewing my personal website because I felt that it would lead to on-the-job prejudice and an automatic dismissal of my abilities as though having nice tits and an exhibitionistic streak means I’m stupid and not capable. I always went to work with no makeup on and in jeans and a t-shirt…I never showed off, but it didn’t matter much since most Devs have never seen a woman whose last name wasn’t Dotjaypeegee. By the same reasoning, posting pictures for the EQ2 community while working as their rep would have undermined my authority and just made my superficial qualities the main topic of note, which would have made my job harder. I would much rather be respected for my conduct on the boards than my cup size.


Porn is wayyyy more fun…at least this way I get paid to be sexually harassed instead of enduring it as an unwanted side effect of my occupation. Much better.

It also goes for pretty much anywhere in the game industry (be it retail or development) if you are a reasonably attractive girl, you will face one of two situations. Either A, you will be universally hit on/stalked/etc because an attractive girl into gaming is like winning the lottery for most people. Or B, people will take you less seriously because you are "out of your domain". These people also tend to be repressed homosexuals or people who barely passed High School...in some rare cases, both!
