car help

I figure someone may know a bit about cars around here. Here's my problem. I have a 1987 honda Accord. I bought it recently with low miles like 69k. Today I was going to town. As I started going up a hill it started losing power, like it was going to die. It was surging. Then I got to the top of the hill and pulled over. It is idling solid at 1k. I went around the block and it didn't have any problems until I again began up the hill. The power cutting out began again. I don't have much money as I just spent almost all I have on the car. Anyone know what may be happening. Also I went to the store after coming home for about 2 hours. This time it made it up the hill just fine. Also during the second time up the hill when it was losing power I smelled like something was burning for a few seconds. Any advise would be appreciated.

the first thought that comes to my mind is to check your alternator belt.

If you just bought it, talk to the dealer. Most dealers will take care of it out of their own pocket, in my experience. And there are state laws in place even for vehicles that are sold "as is." My wife had the same problem when we were dating. We went back and were nice to the dealer, but asked him politely to fix it. He did fix it free of charge, and even gave my wife a loaner at the time.

His nickname was digits for a while, coz his account was growing by them monthly.

No dealer bought it from a third party. Also on my dealing since then, possibly a shady one.

I make for an extremely shitty mechanic, but it might be something as simple as the angle of the car cutting off or restricting the fuel supply to the engine. Might be a pretty simple fix.

Last used car I bought from a dealer had a few problems that they had covered up and I didn't notice till the next week or so. I called him and told him what it was and I was real nice about it. He straight up told me that the car was perfectly fine and I must have wrecked it or something.

Finally I said look man, it's not expensive and I'm kinda broke from just overpaying you for this car, can't you do anything? He ended with telling me I didn't know anything about cars, and he wouldn't do shit for me. He was arabian too, fucking terrorists!

Your parking break is probably on. Try taking it off and then see how it drives.
