+66 Internets | Question Re: Amping PC sound Anyone know of software (preferably free) that will amp sound on the fly? I've got my headphones maxed, windows sound setting maxed and even still certain media are really quiet. Google is, forgive my blasphemy, failing me at the moment. |

+66 Internets | Was looking for something more generic, since I use VLCplayer/BSplayer for pretty much everything, but that'll still help. Thanks for the link. If anyone has a more generic solution, I'd appreciate it. I'll even send you naked pictures of a friend of mines ex! |

+66 Internets | It's an Aureal Vortex 8830. Old card I know. Creative took over the company but I can't find any 'updated' drivers for it. No stereo reciever. Just makes me kinda miffed that some movies/music will be loud enough or even too loud, but I can tone down the volume. However, there are some that even when I crank all available settings are still barely a whisper. Right now I just re-encode the video/music to make it louder, but that's getting to be a pita everytime I wanna watch a dvd or something. |

+1 Internets | If you strictly use headphones, you could look into getting a small headphone amp. Head-fi.org is a great spot for headphones, but be forewarned that there are some people that spend insane amounts on headphones there. Something like this would do the trick, and it can also run on batteries for portable use. |
