+18 Internets | I must apologize for posting another thread so shortly and it again being computer related, that said.... please continue. Trying to spend no more than $1500. I for sure want a top of the line card and SATA II (16MB version). Realize I'm missing the power supply, I get an Antec 480W from work for around $50. Appreciate any comments regarding these products or suggestions on what to get instead. Pretty happy with this setup for the price, can probably get some items cheaper at work, but this is more about the products, less about the price. | Hmm, are you sure you don't want faster ram? The new San Diego core is a crazy overclocker DROOLLLLLLLLLLLLLl, I hear it can go from 2.2 to 2.6 easily WoWoWOwowoOWwo Anyway, I'm pretty sure your system can take much faster ram than that, try to look at some reviews of OCZ 4000VX or whatever, it's nice for the 939 I think... Not sure how much you can overclock that OCZ PC3200 |

| Um, virtually no heat at all, I SWEAR THAT THING IS A MONSTERRRRRRR, I am jealous. You can do 2.2 to 2.6 STOCK VOLTAGeeeee, heat = nope, lemme find some links of OCing that beast: http://www.bleedinedge.com/reviews/p...-Diego_03.html http://www.atomicmpc.com.au/forums.asp?s=2&c=6&t=8506 - people saying Venice is better value, but I don't think you're after value here! The balance of this is the amazing overclockability of this particular sample. If you look at it in comparison with AMD's other 1MB L2 cache processors, it's an absolute performance bargain, at under less than half the price of an FX55, and $100 less than even a 4000 San Diego. Yet the 3700 San Diego reaches 2.7GHz at stock vcore and using stock cooling! Incredible! |

| I have some OCZ pc4000VX. If youre gonna get it, make sure your mobo supports 3.3v!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mine only supports 3.2v so I cant run it at its rated speed and timings.

+39 Internets | If you get VX memory from OCZ, you pretty much have to have a DFI board. There's one or two others that go to 3.5V, my lanparty will do 4v. System seems pretty nice to me, really. Couple personal preference things, but otherwise I'd take it. |

| pheonix did u burn in your ram? most winbond stuff can do 250 2-2-2-5 at 3.2v if you do it right and that computer is shwing man btw overclocking computer doesn't affect games that much if you already have the resource and venice is not better value...the later weeks for venice are not clocking as good as the earlier ones did a la winchesters and you need really expensive ram that can do DDR550-600 to run it 1:1 so u dont lose performance from mem divider now the contribution: i dont like the case ![]() |

+18 Internets | Thinking of subbing the memory above with the following(x2). I'm having problems finding 1GB dual sticks of anything over 3200. Price starts getting pretty high now too. Last edited by Ham n Cheese : 08-13-2005 at 03:59 PM. |

+18 Internets | I already have a MX-1000 laser mouse (love it), I've never seen the point in an expensive keyboard though. I use the $10 GE one from work (I get for like $4). When we get those new logitechs in stock I'll be sure to return my current mouse for that though. Thanks for the link TDO, that's the RAM I want for sure... going from $1500 to $1700 doesn't seem like much, but $1500 was already kind of a stretch for me. Will probably get it anyway. |
