| Oh yes, my post wasn't against you Eomer I'm just not sure that all that G8 stuff is really what they want us to believe. They'll just find another way to make easy money, and I hate the demagogy they display :/ Unfortunately, our countries wouldn't be as rich as they are if we didn't exploit poorer countries for the last 200 or so years. |

Think about this.. In a sexually repressed society where women are hiden beneath veils, where you never see them.. And then you are told if you die killing the enemy you will be in heaven with 70+ virgins waiting to do anything you want... and have them pump this in your head from birth. Makes this world seem like something easy to leave, just push a button and you are in orgy town.

| It's a terrible day for sure. Not to be insensitive, but I don't think this incident was bad *enough* to truly bridge the gap between the US and GB. Certainly they now know first hand what we felt back in 2001, but this is thankfully nowhere near the 3k people we lost that Tuesday in September. Count your blessings. |

Also terrorism is a dick waving contest and comparing the number of deaths and talking about "bridging the gap" makes sense.

| There is no internets | I think the Mayor of London's, addressing the terrorists directly, quote summed it up best for me: Quote:

There is a large gap between America, GB, and hell the rest of Europe over the way America looks at the war compared to everyone else. We've taken a proactive stance and taken a shitload of flak. This will bring GB closer to America in its views hopefully, bridging the gap. How much the divide will shrink is yet to be determined. Either way, it's a bad day. | Horrible day, and I'm absent of hope that all we know are safe, many are already dead. But it's a relief to see most involved went relatively uninjured due to the vigilant citizens of England, once again showing their mettle in the streets of London. Where other nations populous might flee in terror, theirs run directly back into the breach to save people they've never met. This is something alien to the people who commit such acts, and why we must fight to preserve it. This cannot end until we stop deceiving ourselves about who's really responsible and where the money to commit these acts is really coming from. We are not talking millions of dollars but tens of millions, coming directly from the highest sources of governments who claim alliance with us. Your average martyr can't think 10 feet in front of him/her, nor provide for their families. They're given purpose and direction from a multitude of sources, none of which are ambiguous. Inevitably when the identities of these attackers are revealed it will show that most of them, if not all, had spent 90% of their life in the same 2-20 mile area and never had the wealth or means to carry out such attacks before heading to their destinations. On 9/11 it was very clear some of the Saudi royal family had a hand in our attacks, and no doubt the same will be true of this black day. This is a war of fundamentalism, an outright refusal to accept the modern world we cherish, and we can either start ending it now by cutting it off at the source, or watch as our grandchildren continue this bloody war of attrition. It's so much easier to ignore it, the sacrifices involved are incredible, but make no mistake, if the money stops, your average martyr goes back to sand farming. These are not well educated people who surround themselves in a cloak of faith as they would have you believe, they are men without hope, who are manipulated into thinking a better future for their family can be secured by serving another’s murderous beliefs. Tolerance is a virtue, but if history has taught us anything we have to uproot the source, twig and root, and stop going after their patsy. But this really isn’t the time for this rant, I apologize. For now I really and truly hope you all find your loved ones safe and secure. And have no doubts that the vast majority of your descendants here in America and abroad have feelings that far outdistance "allies", for me and others it's more like hearing that one's brother has been attacked. |
