comp sound troubles...

ok so basically i think my sound took a shit on me just totally randomly...i've tryed multiple headsets/speakers, nadda, i've plugged them all in properly, turned on all the sound, tryed looking for new drivers for my mobo, nadda...any idea's what the hell could be wrong? i've never heard of sound just randomly craping out.

have an asus a7n8x-x series mobo, 1536 ram, 80 gig hd, 6600 gt, 2100 amd athlon good cooling and all that shit..

any help is greatly appreciated~ its onboard sound btw, not a sound card.

also have another problem with my CD drive, it says there's something it in but there isnt, and anytime i wanna put a new CD in it it ask's me what i want to open this program as in a list. probably a bunch of virri rapeing my comp? :P

Sometimes, when watching porno clips and stuff on the net, the sound just stops working. For no apparent reason. A restart gets it back. It's weird :\

This happend to me on my A7N8X Mobo too. Aparently a lot of the boards in that line have a problem with the onboard sound.

I went and bought a sound card, no more problems.

The comp I built with that ASUS mobol has absolute shit quality sound as well. I thought it was the speakers for a while though.
