ok so i need some help with a video card

so i decided to put a new fan on my ati 9700(the old one died, it just stoped working), so i put on the fan from my 5600(the entire card died heh) anyway i put the fan i bought for the 5600 onto the ati 9700 and im getting really fucking weird image's, kinda like when the old NES would fuck up....

anyone know how i can fix this?, drivers are installed properly, i will mention this though, i ran the video card a couple times with the fan not working, im going to assume that it did this and raped the card.

yeah pretty much figured that, wasent really smart to run it with no fan running but oh well, just gonna have to pick up a 6600 GT this week. thanks bog.

Probably have shitty contact between the heat sink and your GPU. Take it off, clean it off good, make sure you use good quality thermal grease (and use tape or non-conductive on the RAM chips if those are being covered) and try it again. If it still doesn't work, you fucked the board.

If it does work, buy a 6600GT anyway.
