| I'm a bit skiddish on buying anything from Sony at this point... esp their gaming systems. I had a surround sound system that crapped out, a dvd player crap out, 2 psones melt down, and one ps2 so far. I just have this sick feeling that the PSP will just have problems too, and at the very least I'll wait for the "second" generation of systems to ship this time. That said... that is another thing that is driving me nuts about Sony. I don't want a DVD player, mini pc. I want a game system. And with the PSP I don't want an MP3 player, portable movie player, and the likes. I want a portable gaming system. In theory those things are nice, but i wonder if it just doesn't add up to a piece of hardware trying to do too much but stay in a certain price range ending up being kinda junky in the end. However, to me, the DS just hasn't really impressed me all that much as well. It's not the "gimmick" of the second screen (although Nintendo seems to be trying an awful lot of gimmicks the last couple years), the games themselves just don't look all that awe inspiring to me. |

| There are plenty of complaints you can level at the PSP (most involving it being an MP3 player, video player, and game system, and the pricing that goes along with that and the game pricing). However, being a "junky" system isn't one of them. I understand folks who just care about the games, but honestly I think the games are pretty damned good. They're different types of games than the DS gives, but Wipeout is a very, very good game. As are Ridge Racer, Lumines, Twisted Metal, and Metal Gear: Acid. For me, a lot of the appeal is good games plus the fact that I can toss 6 or so episodes of, say, Futurama on a memory stick to take along with me if I want something to do and it's not playing one of the games I have right that moment. |

+5 Internets | Some guys at work have bought some and they do look fantastic. The screen is bigger than I thought it would be and displays great. They have been playing multiplayer games using WiFi in the office and it seems to work very well. One guy found a way to get it to surf the web, though I don't really understand why it doesn't support that natively. Anyway, it's good that I just bought a new TV and a PS2 or else I'd want to buy one. |

| Well, it's been a week now, and I'm extremely happy with the system. I think I've put about 15 hours of time in to Untold Legends, which is my favorite game so far. Lumines comes up next, very addictive. WipeOut I have not played much, but I'm digging it every time I pick it up. I got Darkstalkers, and it's awesome, but the poor controls turn me off from it. I'm going to try to return that for something else, and maybe trade in 3 more ps2/xb/gc games for Twisted Metal Head On or Ape Escape. I plan on using the PSP mainly at home, and taking DS with me on short trips if I need to, the PSP screen seems extremely fragile. I still have not beaten Mario 64 DS, and I have barely played Feel the Magic at all(got my copy used, so everything is already beat on it :|)so I have some stuff to play on both, but I think I'll be playing PSP more often, simply because I like the games I have. Once some good shit starts coming out for DS(Kirby is looking good), I might be all over that again. But yeah, everyone that's played around with my PSP has been extremely impressed with it. |

The system itself is junk, very very easily breakable, and riddled with manufacturing flaws outta the box. Something like 60%+ PSP on US release has had some sort of defect outta the box, its insane. Sorry..but not "Working as Intended" | |

Katamari Damacy DS will probably require you to roll using the touch screen. That's not going to be as fun as everyone thinks.
