| document recognition system Kind of a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with document recognition systems. Part of a system I am working on involves scanning in many hundreds of documents. Currently the user must specify during the scanning what type of document is being scanned so the system knows how to handle it. We are looking for a way to automate that particular step in the process, with likely a neural net trained document recognition system. There are a few tools out there for this. I was wondering if anyone has any experience in this, or if possibly there might be other lower cost or open source! alternatives.

| I worked specifically with this and did a lot of development in vb6 and vb.net ... the best and most reliable recognition package is from peladon software .... i knew and personally met their developers and they were very knowledgable and helpful. |
