Digital Video Editing Software?

Hi guys.

Anyone know the names of some affordable, consumer-level software that I can use to alter/edit/fuck with video source files? I don't mean just adding silly effects and that kinda shit, but actually tearing things out, altering backgrounds, adding additional content, that kind of thing.

Would much appreciate a place to start looking.

The adobe suite will be your best but IMO but it doesnt really fall into the "affordable" category. Premiere is great for cutting your video and adding sound / music while After Effects is good for any kind of effect.

Premier, Final Cut Pro, and Avid will do the trick...I think Final Cut Pro is probably the easiest one to learn
