Drupal vs Joomla.

Can anyone with experience using these two platforms key in and tell us which is a better CMS?

nonprogrammers standpoint

used drupal briefly a year or so ago, very robust, harder to setup and get running properly- dropped it after a few weeks of tinkering

joomla- Extremely easy to setup, very robust, used it for a few websites- decent admin section, a lot of modules, add on's and components-from Secure Stores, to Forums to pretty much Every conceivable thing you want to run on a website...

overall imo drupal CAN be better than joomla, but takes more work to get going correctly

Joomla, just make sure the install is setup correctly and you are good to go...

personally i liked joomla (formally mambo) significantly better than drupal, but i am not a programmer, i like ease of use, ease of setup and a fairly straighforward ui to interact with...

Joomla 1.5 is coming out very soon. Its now Joomla! 1.5 RC4.

Im assuming this version will even more robust and better to use then 1.0 that you were using. Apparently its a huge update. I'll try out Joomla for now.

I made this website a few months ago in no time at all using Joomla 1.0 www.4crom.com - Home Never created a website before that, found it extremely easy to manage and figure out. Stopped working on it awhile ago though to see what I could do with 1.5 which I have yet to try out. Haven't used Drupal though and probably won't seeing as how I'm an extreme newb. As said above, modules/add ons are awesome for Joomla; the fireboard extension is probably my favorite even with its bugs. Fireboard 1.5 probably resolved most of those though. The Joomla forums are great too for resolving any issues you might have.

I've tried both, built multiple sites with both and I've stuck with Joomla. I either use that or dreamweaver if I have to. But 99% of my sites, I can do with Joomla and plugins. It also seems like I have much less/easier maintenance with Joomla compared to a "coded" site.

Stick with Joomla, it is easy as hell.
