web page production

My company is looking for someone to design, code, and install a web site for us. If you wouldn't mind either posting here or PMing with some examples of your work and how much each example cost I would greatly appreciate it.

I will be selling comic books, magazines, as well as promoting up and coming items, books, movies, and music my company is producing.

As for cash, *shrugs*, I'll pay whatever if I want it. But I want to see what something of comparable cost looks like. If you are going to charge me 5k for a web site another company only charges 2k for I want to know to be able to compare the 2 and form my own opinion.

It might not be a good idea, but you should go to a local high school and see if they have web design.

For example, Pittsburg High School Athletics

I was helping make that some years back, and still am. It's more of an update thing now, but the total cost was less than 1k because we work(ed) for just $10/hr.

So if your local HS has some web design students that are good and want to make some money, there's another source.

I looked into something similar. I have a Tech College just about 10 miles from my house but they said they couldn't help me out cause I was using the site for monetary gain and that is against some state or Federal policy for schools.

The lady over the computer dept told me that a project can not be performed by students if it is used for personal gain because of child labor laws and federal funding/grant mandates or something like that. I would assume that High schools would be under the same laws.

Thanks for the idea though.

You can't blame women for what they do wrong in the same way that you can't blame a dog for what it does wrong.

Child labor laws my ass. College = 18 = not a child. That woman is on crack. Just show up at a class and contract some kids.

Can you find an example of a semi-competitor website?

Any specific kind of comic books? Or spread across all genres? Any other specialties? What kind of music? What kind of feel do you want to portray? I'm assuming your demographic is something like 10-30 yr old males?

I'm somewhat interested. PM me if you'd like to give more details.
