I compiled ffserver/ffmpeg under windows (Cygwin) np. I did have to apply a minor patch.

Maybe Red5 : Open Source Flash Server Open Source Flash does what you need though?

It doesn't, nellymoser is proprietary (why this thing was such a nice surprise). I actually am using Red5 to get the stream from a Flash player. At that point I just have this mostly unreadable data stream though. I need to stream it from Red5 to x, where x decodes it into something like wav/mp3, then stream it back out to either an audio device or a VAC or something, that half of the project isn't my job (thank God!)

If I could get fobs to work with the latest build of ffmpeg I think I'd be set actually.

Omnividea FOBS - FFMpeg C++ & JMF Bindings

But trying to compile that is even more of a nightmare then the nelly2pcm thing was. Compiling ffmpeg was relatively easy because it had an excellent walkthrough, trying to compile that thing gives me strange errors that have no associated documentation, even after I installed Python.

edit: It isn't just me, thankfully. Today has been the worst day for the other guy working on the project as well, we've been at this for ~4 months and this is one of the last things we need to get working. By Friday. Hopefully.

If you are using cygwin, run this script with bash and it will install ffserver for you with minimal problems I think. I installed it all manually but this script looks like it will make it easy.
