Website content creation software

I have finally decided to make a website and I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions on website content creation software. I'm not planning on making fancy website; I am just looking for software that will allow me to tie different types of applications seamlessly (like gallery for pictures, phpbb, etc).

Any recommendations? Any free (or cheap) recommendations?

TIA.

eh i write cms system for a living, so i would just write my own. as far as free stuff goes, depends on what kind of server/hosting you are doing. Ruby has some neat CMS apps, but if you are doing el cheapo php then probably something like postnuke or drupal.

Joomla is pretty nice, not to mention it's free.

I used it for my guild's website.

If you aren't allergic to microsoft, I recommend visual studio express. It's free and easy.

Use Notepad++ and a good book. It's fast, light, free, and incredibly powerful. WYSIWYG softwares suck, they always add a shit load of useless code.

Notepad coding can be hard at first, but you will learn fast and in the long run be a better developer.

I prefer Macromedia Homesite to notepad++. Notepad++ is a nice system but it's buggy and has broken on me at random for no reason more than once.

Plus I really like the hotkey scripts and code chunks stuff you can do with homesite. WYSIWYG editors suck ass, especially Dreamweaver.
