Asterisk

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience working with and / or setting up an Asterisk server. If you don't know what Asterisk is it is an open source PBX (http://www.asterisk.org/). Tons of people use it to setup simple VOIP systems instead of paying large sums of money for a proprietary system. What I am interested in is the app_rpt module for it (http://app-rpt.qrvc.com/). This could be used to add ROIP (Radio over IP) to the system.

Anyways . . . I'm working on a project and while I'm reading and studying up on everything I was looking for anyone with first hand experience using Asterisk or the app_rpt program.
