Twitter support?

[Just tossing some ideas out...]

I dunno if it is even possible, but there are lots of websites that notify you of updates through twitter. It would be a nice addition to the forums if you could get thread update notifications (sort of like subscriptions) through twitter. You can do this right now through email, but I don't want my email to clog up with email notifications. I don't know if twitter would be able to handle all the subsciptions, but it would be nice to pinpoint a single thread.

Also, is it possible to have RSS feeds to subscriptions right now? If not, that would be a nice alternative. If you can... how do I do it?

Either way, the updates to either of the systems should either have a flood watch (in case of a hot topic) or be a summary of the posts done in a period of time!

If this happens we are we step closer to accepting furries, also fuck anything that slows down this site. That one day that sonic/kirby pic got linked onto Digg killed the server speeds.

Maybe you are right, Twitter might not be the best method to implement this. I guess what I want can be just implemented by creating a dummy e-mail account and monitoring it with digsby.

I only just briefly read it so i'm probably missing somethinh obvious, but it seems RSS feeds are possible (though this link is from 06, so things may have changed):

RSS Feeds, here is what you need.

http://www.fohguild.org/forums/external.php - The entire site.

http://www.fohguild.org/forums/external.php?forumids=2 Change 2 to be any forum ID, since Req is using VBSEO forum ID's in the url are converted into seo friendly links. You'll have to experiment to find the ID for each forum.
