+8 Internets | None of you bitches are touching my original FF2, 3 and Chrono Trigger cartridges! Mines! I'm with Sean, though. I'm a collector, I guess. Good idea I think.

+16 Internets | This sounds like a good idea for you console gamers. One thing to keep in mind is that, for better or worse, most of the people that will use this system are lurkers, just based on how many lurkers this forum has compared to posters.

+19 Internets | Mmm...Maybe we should have some sort of game registration system? When you have games you're willing to trade out, you enter it into the FoH game db and it's assigned a number, you write it on a sticker and put it on your game, and then someone who's interested will click on it and you'll be notified. Then we could start tracking games, click on a username, see how many games he's sent out, how many he's received, where his games are now, etc. If a person gets a FoH-circle game, they can look at the sticker and enter the number into the db and see who's the original owner and return it, or we could have a distribution bin where all unclaimed games end up. Attach a dollar amount balance based on the original retail value maybe? Do it like torrents, if your dollar balance ever goes negative (you're borrowing more then you're passing out, or you're holding onto games forever). When you pass the game off to the next person, your balance re-adjusts? This system could apply to DVDs, CDs, books, comics etc. One thing though for PC games, people would have to be really honest about CD-keys. I could see lending out my D2 or Starcraft cd's. As long as the person doesn't get the cd key banned and doesn't continually use the account key so no one else can log in. |
