Must be a only certain accounts. The "can't assign avatar" bug happened a while back as well.

It's cause your name is ..., and when it goes to reference your profile, the HTML code of '...' bumps it back a forum, thus any picture you upload will simply not work.

EDIT: Well, it doesn't bump it back, but your name won't show up because it's used in code.
