A lot of drugs get destroyed by either the strong acid in the stomach or enzymes in the upper intestine. Other's don't readily absorb in the body or aren't converted to their biologically active forms if consumed orally. DMT is a good example of this. Because it's found naturally in just about any growing organism, the body gets rid of it very quickly when you consume it orally (unless you take it with an MAOI).

Because they carry such large quantities that the body is able to metabolize enough of it to cause death even with the lowered effectiveness of oral administration.

He's comparing animals to humans. I can't speak to effectives of animals to metabolize such chemicals. Birds die with a hit of alka-selzter. I don't really see the comparison between their internal organs and ours in terms of breaking down coke and heroin. I do know that any news story I've seen regarding animals carrying heroin in their stomachs, the animals usually died, where humans carrying bags of heroin in their stomachs have had many of the bags rupture and still live.

No, a Mule is a person who swallows drugs that are wrapped in latex balloons called pellets and carries them to countries than shits them out once they reach their destination. They carry between 80 to 120 of them. If one breaks they die. They OD from it and certain death within minutes from respiratory distress and internal bleeding. I was asking b/c of your statement about being able to swallow a soft ball size of coke/heroin and not getting high but trying to be polite in the way I did. Btw I have never heard of anyone living after a pellet breaks.

The majority of stories I've heard they lived, unless it was in liquid form, which is a whole different ball game.

Sorry for not catching you meant the slang version of the mule term. Also, I do want to modify a statement I made earlier. When consuming it, you can expect to die long before it gets you high. All depends of volume.

I have never heard of them living when it comes to Heroin or coke. You might of heard about Hashish or something. It's probably good idea to modify it. I kinda aimed in on that for a reason.

While he's right that the bio-availability is much lower for oral ingestion, particularly for certain drugs, I have a hard time imagining you would be able to eat a softball sized dose of coke/heroine and survive.
