what about targeted ads for certain forum sections? I imagine the SS forum is more likely to click on the playboy banner then general or MMO General.

Or have the playboy banner always displays on the bottom ad space?

I really don't think that's the best solution, given the desire for this forum to be frequented by gaming developers while they work.

I'd like to keep MMO General SFW, including both posts and banners. This hasn't been a large issue usually in the posts; I can't remmeber the last time I saw a NSFW pic in MMO general. FoHSS otoh...

I'm working on making the screenshots forum and the PGT into their own advertising zones, it's an annoying problem because I have to edit like 50 templates just to get the screenshots forum into it's own zone due to the placement of the ads in non-global templates, and I have to write some sort of vbulletin mod to make a particular thread into it's own zone.

I personally don't come to this forum at all from work, and I think that's a sensible choice for the most part if your company cares about internet usage at ALL (my employer has a liberal policy about the actual usage but it all needs to be pretty PG).

I just catch up on what little I pay attention to anymore when I get home. It's no big deal. I stick to my baseball sites while I'm at work, so none of you go there posting porn!

I can't imagine any game company getting sniffy about stuff here, and if you're a game developer browising here it's likely part of your job to keep up and interact with this kind of community. If you're not in the game industry then I don't see how browsing these forums on companies time and money is what you're supposed to be doing.

I had a similar problem with someone's sig not long ago that had the bouncy boobs. I don't personally mind it, but I used to browse at work (yes I'm a lazy no-good fuck who should get back to work, I understand that) and would always avoid Screenshots, but this guy was posting in general. So I PM'd him, and he changed his sig. It can't hurt to ask I guess. If Req wants these forums to stay work safe, then he needs to think about his ads. If he doesn't care, then not.

I don't think anyone is claiming the OP should be browsing the forums at work. But the simple reality is that a lot of people do anyway, and if Req wants the traffic, then he needs to address the issue.
