Most of those threads end up in very ugly places. Most forums I've seen open them have ended up closing them because they bring a whole new form of ugly. I'm pretty sure I took part in one being closed.

I'm all for a political debate forum if it doesn't turn into a war zone for hate speeches, which it will given the current circumstances. If you can magically control that, then go for it. I'd welcome it.

Not to discount a forum I love dearly, but if you want intelligent political discussion, FoH's forums are not the best environment.

It's a great place for political arguments, though!

I agree, there's no need for it. Thankfully the "discussions" tend to sequester themselves into a few threads, and don't infect the rest of the boards.
