Zimbabwe currency crash

It's official, the Zimbabwean currency is now worthless, the only thing being accepted is gold in grains which have to be dug out from the ground. Old people can't dig gold to buy food so they starve to death.

Some recent documentary footage, holy fuck, to think that these guys had a surplus of food before they got rid of all the white farmers.

Is there a legal way to get Zimbabwe currency in the U.S. or does that violate the Trading with the Enemy Act?

I get mine on ebay. This way some enterprising chap in Zim can get some foreign currency, and I can have "money" with lots of zeros on it. dude! I'm a millionaire Crap, I'm only a millionaire. Looking this morning, they're about $5-10 (US dollars) for a $10,000,000,000,000 zim note (almost $30 if you need 14 zeros after the 1). Hmm, how many banknotes in a monopoly set?

I don't know the exact details of how exacly their currency crashed, but from what I know their economy went to shit when the last guy to get into power gave the lands of the white farmers to his buddies, as a show of appreciation for their support.

The white farmers took their farming machinery with them and gtfo (they lost the land, but the equipment was still theirs). The new black farmers obviously didn't have the equipment (or money to buy it) for modern farming so the production dropped to next to nothing overnight.

So, in short, I dont think using the currency of another country would do much for them, since the country essentially barely produce anything to generate something that could be qualified as an economy.

The white farmers didnt take the equipment, they fled with their lifes and nothing else or they got tortured and killed, after their women and children were raped and tortured in front of them.

The black farmers didnt have the expertise to farm. The government took away property rights, so their was no incentive to make anything. The blacks just stole shit until there was nothing left to steal.

Zimbawbe is a great example of how to fuck up an economy and country. They litteraly printed so much money that it was worthless and enforced it with guns. So trading ground to a halt. Allowing other currencies to work will help, because it allows trading to take place with a currency that has a 'real' value. The inflation was so bad, you'd buy an loaf of bread in the morning, in the afternoon, you'd need double the currency in the afternoon!

The head of their reserve bank is Gorden Geddo. He just finished building a new 'castle like' house with 47 bathrooms!
