I haven't actually gotten a receiver yet; does this have phono?

This receiver doesn't seem to have a phono input, but the upside is we already have it (my roommate had one in her closet being unused). Looking around on the internet someone said I could get a "high-quality phono preamp", whatever that is, and plug the turntable into any receiver input via the preamp. Will this work, and if so where exactly can I get one of these preamp's?
