On the bright side, at least it was a visible, high-profile failure with lessons to learn and morals to be told right before you close the book.
Take your experience and compare that to a stretch of over a decade or more, where there aren't any amazing catastrophes, just consistent mediocrity.
I'd rather wreck my ferrari than get a flat tire on my taurus.
